Welcome to Trattoria Gallo d’oro Siderno, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Siderno, Italy. Located at Via Amalfi, 3, this charming restaurant offers guests an authentic taste of Calabrian cuisine that is not just a meal but a heartfelt experience. Whether you're a local or a traveler seeking an authentic Italian dining adventure, Gallo d’oro welcomes you with open arms and a warm atmosphere.
The cuisine here is deeply rooted in tradition, showcasing a selection of carefully prepared dishes that evoke the flavors of a Calabrese home. Patrons rave about the homemade pasta—an absolute must-try that offers a delightful bite and texture. As noted by customer Thomas Lehn, you can't go wrong with the fantastic meatballs, which are rich in flavor and cooked to perfection.
Another highlight is the fritto misto, claimed by Kyle Kelly to be the best he’s ever had. This dish exemplifies the artistry of the kitchen, wrapping fresh ingredients in a light, crispy coating that makes each bite a joy. Priced very fairly, it's an excellent reflection of how Gallo d’oro prioritizes quality without breaking the bank.
With a limited but carefully curated menu, chef Francesco Scarfò understands that simplicity is key. The chef often personally introduces the day’s offerings, drawing you into the culinary adventure right from the start. The meatball in tomato sauce and calamari fritti are often recommended as must-tries, showcasing the best of what the Jonic Coast has to offer. And don’t be surprised if you feel like you’ve stepped into Grandma's kitchen—that's the intention.
The atmosphere at Trattoria Gallo d’oro is intimate and welcoming, enhanced by the friendly service from staff like Franco, who elevates your experience with genuine hospitality. While the trattoria lacks air conditioning, the warmth of the people and the food compensates for that, creating an inviting space filled with delightful aromas and laughter.
As you consider your dining options in Siderno, give Trattoria Gallo d’oro a try. Reservations are advisable, given the trattoria’s cozy size. Expect to be treated not just to a meal, but to a slice of Calabrian culture and heritage, all wrapped up in their authentic dishes. Dive in, savor each moment, and let Gallo d’oro leave a lasting impression on your palate!

Simple menue with just a few items of high quality prepared on the spot in the traditional Calabrese manner. The chef shows you personally what he is cooking for the day. Just a few items but prepared the way your calabrese Mamma used to prepare. Highly recommend. No AC Reservations will assure you a seat for a small trattoria as this

It is a rare true "Osteria". You must try the "meatball in tomato souce" and "calamari fritti" (fried squid). The owners is an artist and a very interesting person. I recommend if you want to try the Calabrian cooking of Jonic coast.

What an amazing restaurant! No menu. The owner (and cook) walked out of the kitchen, placed a plate of 3 types of home made pasta he prepared on that day, told us the sauces he had on offer and also mentioned the typical zuppa with beans. The food was absolutely delicious. It was like eating at an Italian home. The retaurant itself is worth visiting because of its rustic interior and interesting artwork. Just loved it!
